Kristian Lavercombe
Narrator (New Zealand)
With over 2,600 performances, Kristian has appeared in The Rocky Horror Show more
than anyone in the history of the show. Best known for his acclaimed portrayal of Riff Raff,
he has also played Frank’N’Furter, Brad Majors, and the Narrator — but is unfortunately
yet to be cast as Janet.
Kristian has toured the world with Rocky Horror for well over a decade, including multiple
international tours, three seasons in London’s West End, and the Rocky Horror Cinema
Live performances broadcast across Europe and featured on BBC America.
Other theatre highlights include:
Frankie Valli in Jersey Boys and JJ Silver in Strictly Ballroom (Court Theatre); Jesus
in Jesus Christ Superstar; Leaf Coneybear in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling
Bee (Auckland Theatre Company); Bobby Strong in Urinetown (Downstage Theatre); Puck
in Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Christchurch Arts Festival); and the Dark
Lady in This Holy Fire of Love (New Zealand Symphony Orchestra).
Further credits include:
Hamlet; Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead; Amy’s View; The Cripple of
Inishmaan; The Complete Works of Shakespeare (Abridged); Skylight; Mother
Courage; The Queen and I; Rent; The Wizard of Oz; and the role of Tarquin in the television
series Dark Knight. (He swears he doesn’t choose projects based solely on how fun the
titles are.)
